Pointers on the process of importing pets into Singapore

You got to love Singapore for so many reasons. This is one country that packs within it a whole lot of fantastic facilities and opportunities. Moving to Singapore is becoming more like a trend nowadays for corporate officials. Companies are setting up shop in Singapore and sending their officials there. However those who want to move with their pets usually have a problem importing pets into Singapore. The dynamics of pet export Singapore has are rather simple to understand and if you do, you can move with your pet very easily.

Quarantine is compulsory

http://www.petrelocationsg.com/It is a rule in just about all parts of the world that if you want to move animals to a different location then they must be given a number of shots and even be quarantined. This is just a precautionary measure that must be taken. In Singapore, all pets being imported into the country must be quarantined for at least thirty days. The Sembawang Quarantine Station is one of the largest and most reliable ones.

If this was the only thing needed then things would be so easy, right? Unfortunately that is not all. You have to book a slot at the quarantine station at least two months in advance. As aforesaid, Singapore is like a hotspot for many people. Everyone seems to be moving to Singapore. Therefore quarantine facilities are quite stretched out.

Actual travel

As long as you book the slot in the station two months in advance then things should not be so difficult for your pet. However, finding a reliable airline that allows you to bring you pet aboard can be quite a hassle. Depending on the size of your pet- mainly in the case of dogs- you can bring you pet aboard as hand luggage or have him put in the ventilated and heated cargo hold. This is if the airline does not have a ‘no pets allowed’ policy.
